The Star Championships day one fashion: Nicole Kidmans niece Lucia Hawley stuns

Just weeks after landing her first TV presenting role, Nicole Kidman’s niece has stepped out in Sydney to attend a prestigious race day at Royal Randwick.

Lucia Hawley, 24, was announced as the new face of Live From E! in February, catapulting her onto Australian television screens.

Since landing the prized position, the journalist – who said she spent years “working towards” a TV career – has become a regular “special guest” of the Australian Turf Club during its current Autumn racing carnival.

After attending the Golden Slipper 2023 alongside Samantha Armytage and Karl Stefanovic recently, Lucia has once again appeared at trackside on Saturday, this time at day one of the Star Championships event.

“My motto is a little bit of less is more,” she told The Daily Telegraph ahead of the event.

“But when it comes to race day fashion it’s like you just want to throw yourself into it and it’s fun because everyone does it.”

To cement her spot among Sydney’s fashion elite, she opted for a black midi gown with chunky straps and a mini cut-out at the bust.

Lucia teamed it with a pair of long black gloves featuring pearl detailing, and a matching netted fascinator.

She finished the chic ensemble with a white handbag and nude heels.

For an earlier photo shoot promoting Fashion on the Field, she opted for a pair of black pants from Willow, a white blouse from Sheike and an oversized black pussy bow.

She finished the look with a pair of heels from Wittner and a headpiece from Australian milliner Ford Millinery.

Her outfit was styled by celebrity fashion stylist Donny Galella.

Hawley previously wore a black Dion Lee gown – with a corset-style bodice top – to the Golden Slipper event last month.

The designer dress featured knitted sleeves and knit panelling throughout, with at interwoven halter neckline.

Hawley, the daughter of TV presenter Antonia Kidman, has described her new career as “amazing” and said she was “lucky” to have both her mum and aunt “as role models”.

“Not only are they amazing at their jobs, but they also have a really strong sense of self and are very intellectual as well,” she told The Daily Telegraph of her new Channel 7 gig in February.

“This is honestly like a dream come true. I always wanted to present and red carpets are naturally what I gravitate towards, so it came about pretty serendipitously.”
